I'm typically someone who carries a bunch of stuff, and going to school I find that carrying a backpack everywhere I go is beneficial - because you never know when you will be waiting a long while and that would make it a good time to study (I at least leave it in my car).

My purse is too big to put in my backpack, and I've tried eliminating only what I need and getting a smaller purse, but that didn't work, so I carry both.

To carry my purse I have to have a long strap. I put my backpack on, then swing the purse strap around my neck so that it would keep from slipping. This way I don't have to hold on to anything, everything stays in place the way it is.

If you can manage it, I would recommend getting a small purse to put in your backpack, only be careful about leaving it in there! There have been times when I've left my wallet in my backpack and then driven around without a driver's licence! Simply because I totally forgot that it was in there.

For now it might not be convienient to carry around a designer purse if you are going through so much hassle, I'd say you're better off buying something cheap and managable, and when you graduate, reward yourself with a nice purse!

Personally, I wear my backpack on both shoulders and then sling my purse on one shoulder as well. It works out just fine for me.

buy a really cute really small hand bag...not shoulder bag

think of something cute you would wear with a cocktail dress for a night out

+ then use the backpack for every thing else

think minimaly all you need is some lip gloss, mints, and a tissue...and a cellphone

Lose the backpack. They're better suited for students only. Try a rolling laptop/briefcase. You can easily flaunt your designer bag this way.

You can get your very own designer bag from http://urlx.org/directtrack.com/6809f for free. All you have to do is fill out the survey. My girlfriend got her bag from that site and all she had to do was choose the bag she wanted and enter in her email address.
