What is an ecosystem and why would we study energy flow in relation to the ecosystem?
So I know what an ecosystem is, but I can’t come up with a reasonable explanation as to why we would study it.

We study ecosystem’s to understand the way different species interact. We want to know why different species interact because those interactions help us compare unrelated species. This gives us a larger view of why biological factors are they way they are. Sorry it’s pretty vague, but energy flow itself is pretty vague without any sort of application..
It is important because we need to know the relationships between different species so we dont destroy the environment.
